It's finally snowing! Snow began to fall at about 2:30. Wind has been predominately out of the southeast all day today. This indicates that the low pressure system is likely going north of Eau Claire bringing warm moist air through our area. Although these conditions may not produce the initially predicted amount of snow, they may still be equally as dangerous depending on the size of the warm and cold airmasses within the system. Conditions resulting in freezing rain must now be watched closely. Currently, the snowflakes are quite large and appear to be thin plates.
